Perfectly-timed for Turtle Bay’s Marley Month, our acclaimed Reggae 45 podcast with Don Letts is back with a fantastic Bob Marley Birthday Special.
Available from Wednesday 7 th February, Grammy award-winning artist, BBC 6Music DJ, and film-maker Don Letts is joined by respected music journalist and Bob Marley expert, Chris Salewicz, to celebrate the life and music of one of the 20 th Century’ greatest artists.
As you may know, Don Letts is a cultural icon in his own right; a key figure in both the punk and reggae scenes, he DJ’d at the world’s first punk club, The Roxy, and directed The Punk Rock Movie, a documentary starring the likes of The Sex Pistols and The Clash.
Journalist, writer and broadcaster Chris Salewicz has written for everyone from Q Magazine to Mojo, and was a senior writer at the NME from 1975-1981. A good friend of Bob Marley, he’s also the author of Bob Marley (The Untold Story).
We’re so excited to share a new episode of the Reggae 45 podcast with you, after the series caused such a buzz last year, including being placed in The Sunday Times ‘Top 50 Podcasts of 2017’. Just like Turtle Bay itself, Reggae 45 champions the important role music plays in expressing the heart and soul of the Caribbean.
The free podcast is available from 7 th February, a day after what would’ve been Bob Marley’s 73 rd birthday. And you can hear it right here on the Turtle Bay website, or via iTunes or Mixcloud. Listen in and feel alright!
